Product Description:
SN-311 provides excellent heat stability in rigid as well as flexible PVC processing. As it does not have any self-lubricating properties, it is therefore invariably used in combination with SN-340 (Natural Lead Stearate) and/or SN-350 (Dibasic Lead Stearate) for better lubrication and heat resistance. SN-311 is required to be used in combination with SN-320 (Dibasic Lead Phosphite) in applications requiring good heat and light stability. Because of its excellent processability at elevated temperatures, it finds large applications in the processing of rigid PVC, e.g., pipes, indoor and outdoor profiles, fittings, and sheets.
SN-311 and its reaction products being insoluble in water do not induce conductivity in the resultant product, making it one of the most preferred stabilizers for electrical insulation applications.
Functional Behaviour and Salient Features:
- SN-311 has been surface modified using state-of-the-art coating techniques to enhance its dispersibility in PVC resin, directly translating to the production of high-performance products.
- SN-311 is non-lubricating in nature and requires supplementation with 0.5-1.5 phr lubricating lead stabilizers like SN-340 (NLS) and/or SN-350 (DBLS) to enhance its processability.
- SN-311 provides excellent weather resistance and is highly recommended for outdoor-use water pipes, conduits, rainwater pipes, and profiles. Weather resistance can be further enhanced by co-using SN-320 (DBLF).
Recommended Dosage:
3-5 phr
Packing:
25 KG in laminated HDPE bags
Handling and Storage:
-
- Storage at well-ventilated, dry places away from hot surfaces and direct sunlight is recommended. Once opened, packaging should be firmly closed.
- Use hand gloves and dust masks while handling SN-311.
- Not recommended for applications requiring direct or indirect contact with food products.
- Handling with bare hands should be avoided.
