Di Basic Lead Stearate – SN350

Di Basic Lead Stearate (SN350) is a chemical compound commonly used as a stabilizer in the manufacturing of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) products. It acts as a heat stabilizer, preventing the degradation of PVC during processing by providing long-term heat stability. SN350 is particularly valuable in applications such as cables, films, flooring, and other flexible PVC products. It also enhances the processing of PVC by improving the material’s workability. While it offers excellent performance in various PVC formulations, its use has been limited due to environmental concerns surrounding lead

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

SN-350 is a fine, non-dusting white powder, which acts as an efficient high-temperature lubricant and a high-performance stabilizer for PVC processing. It is invariably used in combination with primary lead stabilizers like TBLS (SN-310/311), DBLF (SN-320), and DBLP (SN-330) to complement for their non-lubricity.

FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR AND SALIENT FEATURES

  • SN-350 is normally used in combination with primary lead stabilizers.
  • SN-350 provides very good long-term heat stability in colored flexible PVC products and an excellent inner surface finish in extruded rigid PVC products.
  • It has excellent synergism with other metallic stearates and is therefore recommended for long-term heat stability in colored PVC cable coverings.
  • SN-350 forms an ideal combination with SN-310 and SN-320 for the production of rigid and semi-rigid PVC products for indoor and outdoor applications.
  • SN-350 alone is recommended in some transparent flexible products.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE

1-3 phr

PACKING

25 KG in laminated HDPE bags

HANDLING & STORAGE

  • Use hand gloves and dust masks while handling SN-350.
  • In case of fire, use sand and inorganic chemical-based fire extinguishers.
  • SN-350 must be stored in dry, well-ventilated, cool places away from hot surfaces and direct sunlight.
  • Partially used bags must be closed properly after use.
